Using Cotton Waste to Make Lurik

How It Began
As a brand we are always looking at innovation, specifically that which is good for the environment.
At the beginning of 2020, we started to recycle the cotton waste from our sister company, PT. Dan Liris, which manufactures textiles and garments. With it, we went on to make our own Lurik fabric, woven by traditional artisans throughout Klaten, Jawa Tengah.
The Process
Preserving Culture
Supporting traditional craftsmanship is in line with our commitment to promote and preserve Indonesian culture. For bateeq, sustainability is more than the material we use. It includes cultural preservation, community support, and women’s empowerment.
